- Drive consistency with automated terminology governance — ensure all your text aligns with brand-approved language through the new terms lists.
- Prepare for AI-driven commerce — use the features available in the Inriver PIM today to connect with ChatGPT Instant Checkout and fast-track AI Optimization.
- Expand your connected ecosystem — explore Inriver’s new partnership with Affiliated Distributors (AD) to simplify syndication across extensive distributor networks.
- Accelerate data imports with the new Content Onboarding API — connect upstream systems directly to your PIM for faster, more reliable onboarding at scale.
Here’s the detail on everything that’s new for your business this month:
Optimize Product Text Instantly with New AI-Powered Enhancement Agent
Ready to upgrade all your product content, at scale, automatically? Say goodbye to time-consuming manual edits with the new Enhancement Agent within our Inspire module. It uses AI to instantly refine, simplify, and optimize any kind of pre-existing text: from product descriptions to localized marketing materials. The enhancements happen directly within your Inriver workflows: there’s no need to use external systems or editors. You get clear, consistent content that’s ready for every channel, while your team gets to focus on higher-value enrichment tasks instead of repetitive rewriting.
Worried about punctuation or grammatical errors? The agent has a pre-set to find and fix those flaws. The simplify text preset will instantly turn technical specs into compelling online sales copy. If you just want to be sure that all your content is persuasive enough to drive engagement, select the improve writing preset. It will automatically convert facts (“Oak table, sturdy legs, 4x2 ft”) into an attractive description (“Crafted from solid oak, this durable dining table brings natural warmth and timeless design to any space.”)
You can also add custom rewrite instructions to ensure copy aligns with your brand voice and regional needs – such as “Rewrite descriptions for SEO visibility and consistent brand voice — use short, clear sentences and emphasize innovation.”
Because the agent is fully embedded in Inriver Inspire workflows, every update stays within your governed environment — maintaining accuracy and control.
The Enhancement Agent extends the growing suite of AI-powered assistants in the AI-native inriver PIM. In September, we introduced the Translation and Content Generation Agents, followed rapidly in October by the code-writing Expression Agent that helps you efficiently automate product data transformations. This month we’ve extended the use of Expression Agent so it’s now available during workflow configuration as well as from Control Center and the Portal.
Together, these capabilities make it easier than ever to optimize product content for quality, speed, and consistency — right where you already work. They’re available now for all Inriver customers who’ve licensed Inspire and Workflows.

Ensure Brand-Approved Terminology with New Terms Lists
Working with product information in multiple languages? It’s now even easier to reduce translation review cycles and protect brand accuracy at scale with support for customizable terms lists that ensure your approved terminology and symbols are applied automatically across every language.
The Glossaries feature we launched in September allows you to define approved wording to be used during translations - matching one term in your source language to suitable terms in all your target languages. By contrast, terms lists provide an additional QA step, applying language-specific, post-translation processing to all your content. You define a terms list per language to ensure, for example, that “Slim Fit” never becomes “Narrow Cut,” or that “ecosoft cotton” is always corrected to “EcoSoft™ Cotton.” This delivers brand protection and compliance you can rely on, at scale, without the manual review burden.
Once enabled in your environment, your admins can define, upload, and manage lists of approved terminology and symbols for every language you use. Inspire can then automatically check every piece of localized content it generates, replacing brand names, technical terms, and key phrases according to your rules. Here’s a glimpse of how you trigger a terms list post-processing check:
In future releases, we plan to expand the use of terms lists beyond translation tasks to other PIM use cases. We’ll have more on that in future updates!
Terms Lists are available now for all Inspire customers. Contact your Customer Success Manager to enable it in your environment. Learn more about setting up and using Glossaries and Terms Lists in our step-by-step guide.
Get Ready For AI-Driven Commerce: How Inriver Positions You To Win
We’ve just looked at two new product features that use AI to help you efficiently optimize your product information. But AI is transforming how customers discover and buy products. Thankfully, Inriver helps get you ready for those shifts too.
You’ll almost certainly have heard about OpenAI’s new ChatGPT Instant Checkout feature – it allows consumers to search for and purchase products directly within ChatGPT using natural-language prompts. For example, someone might look for “a bpa-free water bottle in blue that’s at least 750ml in capacity and under $20.” This change highlights the importance of AI-optimization (AIO) for every brand, because discoverability in AI commerce channels depends on the quality and structure of your product data.
With your product information already centralized, enriched, and ready to syndicate, Inriver customers are uniquely equipped for this new era. Existing tools such as Syndicate Advance, localization workflows, and the recently launched Shopify Adapter already support the structured, high-quality data that AIO demands.

Expand Your Reach with the New Affiliated Distributors Integration
Your connected ecosystem just got even stronger: Inriver now has a partnership with Affiliated Distributors (AD). This makes it easier than ever to syndicate product data and digital assets directly to AD’s network of more than 1,000 independent distributor members. By connecting your Inriver PIM with the AD eContent Service, you can distribute high-quality, accurate product content faster, reducing manual effort and improving consistency across every partner channel.
This partnership extends Inriver’s leadership in connected commerce, helping ensure every distributor, marketplace, and storefront receives the same enriched, up-to-date information about your products. With accurate data flowing seamlessly from a single source of truth, you can strengthen distributor relationships, accelerate time-to-market, and scale efficiently.

Connect and Onboard Data Faster: The Content Onboarding API is here
Many Inriver customers are already enjoying the power of Content Onboarding – which offers an intelligent, standardized, and scalable interface for uploading, transforming and validating inbound product data to your PIM. Now you can have all that functionality – including the API-powered data transformations and validations that were added in September – as part of an automated integration with the new Content Onboarding API.
Safely connect upstream systems directly to the PIM for added speed, control and transparency over manual file uploads. The standardized and secure API lets you automate every step of data onboarding while continuing to use your existing mappings, transformations, and validation rules inside Inriver. That means less custom integration work, fewer manual steps, and faster synchronization of high-quality data into your PIM. You can still monitor the progress of imports and fix any validation errors via the Content Onboarding UI.
In this first release, the API supports uploads of CSV and Excel files. Future releases will add support for additional formats including JSON and XML, so you can adapt even the most complex data environments to Inriver with ease.
The Content Onboarding API is available now for all customers and partners. Users making API calls will need the relevant permissions added to their profile. If you’re not using Content Onboarding yet, please talk to your Customer Success Manager to get started.
