It’s time for our monthly review of the most recent inriver product releases, where we delve into the more practical benefits behind the technical details.
This month’s update includes the launch of the new dynamic Table View, enhancements to Expression Engine and Workflows and
A Strong Debut for the new Table View
We must start this month’s round-up with the new, dynamic Table View. We’ve been gratified to see how many of our users are already enjoying the benefits of this intuitive new user experience within the core inriver PIM. And we’re delighted by your feedback so far. Do keep letting us know how it’s helping you to save time and hassle in your day-to-day work.
If you’ve not had a chance to try out the new Table View yet, now’s the time! You can find more information in our Community Announcement.
Expression Engine Enhancements
It’s also been a big month for Expression Engine which has seen the addition of support for segmentation. This should help to speed product data through your onboarding and enrichment process for faster time to market.
At the same time, we’ve added support for a range of new expressions to give you even more ways to automated calculations and transformations of your product information:
- LIST
- ANY
- LINKEDENTITIES
- ALL
- FIRST
- COUNT
- SUM
- SUMIF
- LSREGEXREPLACE
Perhaps the most powerful of these is LIST which enables you to create aggregated lists within an expression. This should save you time because you can now apply an expression to a dynamic list of entities or products rather than specifying them within the expression itself.
You can find a full list of the supported expressions and how they can be used in our Community guide.
Workflows History View
We have also upgraded the visibility of progress for your automated workflows with a new History View. It gives an at-a-glance view of all the entities that are connected to a given workflow. You can sort the columns to view by the date that the entity began its progress through the workflow and the date when it was completed. Learn how to use it in our Community announcement.
Enhanced Accessibility and Usability
This month also brings a range of smaller but impactful improvements that make the inriver Portal more accessible and user-friendly:
- Menu navigation now supports keyboard-based navigation using the Tab key, making inriver easier to use for all.
- Filters and highlighted search terms have been restyled to be clearer and less likely to be mistaken for errors.
- New tooltips and updated button labels (like the renamed “View Assignments” button) create a more intuitive interface.
These changes support all users - especially new team members or those less familiar with PIM - by simplifying navigation and improving clarity.
Better Control Over Linked Entities and Segmentation
Several updates this month enhance how you manage complex product relationships and segmented data:
- You’ll now see the number of linked entities directly in Enrich across card views, providing more transparency for relationship-heavy product structures.
- A new option to export sys_segmentID in Excel exports gives you clearer oversight when using segmentation.
- Segment-based Excel imports are now fully supported for non-admin users, helping distributed teams work more effectively.
Smarter API Behavior and Data Validation
A series of backend improvements offer peace of mind by ensuring more consistent and stable data across all parts of the platform:
- Expression Engine now detects cyclical dependencies and validates generated CVL keys, reducing errors during data processing.
- REST API behavior has been strengthened to prevent silent data loss when updating multilingual fields.
- You’ll also see clearer status messages in mass update logs, helping you understand what was successfully processed - and what wasn’t - at a glance.
That’s it for this month’s summary. If you’d like to know more about the details behind these enhancements, you can read our technical release notes at any time.
