sections in the article
This article provides an overview of the inriver login flow.
One login flow
The inriver login page is adapted to a single sign-on (SSO) login flow. The same login page is used for both the Web Portal and Control Center, as illustrated below.
SSO or forms authentication
If your organization has enabled single sign-on (SSO), you will use it to sign in. If SSO isn't enabled, you will sign in using forms authentication. The login procedure and the login page are the same. The basic difference is that forms users are asked to enter their password when signing in.
Inriver login URLs
Make sure that the login URLs have been added to your company white list, to ensure all users can access them. Read more about the inriver login URLs in this article.
Inriver login flow Q&A
Q: I'm Trying to Log In but the URL I've Bookmarked Isn't Working. Why?
A: Make sure that you update your bookmarked URLs and keep in mind that you might need to add the URLs to your company white list, to ensure all users can access them.
Q: I Don't Remember my Password. How Do I Reset the Password?
A: To reset your password, follow the instructions in this article.
Q: I've Already Signed In to Control Center, What about the Web Portal?
A: If you have signed in to Control Center, you don't need to log in again to open the Web Portal in the same browser. When accessing the Web Portal, you are authenticated automatically, using the same account.
When opening the Web Portal, you will be redirected to the environment selection page where your available environments will be listed.
Q: Can I Be Signed In to the Web Portal and Control Center Using Different Accounts?
A: No, you cannot use two different accounts to log in to the Web Portal and the Control Center in the same web browser at the same time, just like you can't use two different Facebook accounts in the same browser at the same time. This is basically how SSO works.
The same goes for the sign-out process. If you sign out from the Web Portal, you are signed out from Control Center as well, and vice versa.
There are workarounds to this problem. One is to log in to the different accounts using different browsers. Some web browsers also have a workaround for this, for example, Chrome. Read this article from Google Chrome Help to find out more.
Q: I've Signed In to Control Center but I Don't Have Access to Any Environment in the Web Portal
A: You may experience that the account that you've authenticated in Control Center doesn't have access to any environment in the Web Portal. If that is the case, the following screen will be shown:
The same screen will appear if you sign in to the Web Portal and don't have access to any environments.
Access to environments is granted to users in Control Center. Depending on your user role, you can either provide access yourself or ask a Super User (system administrator) to help you.
Note : For already existing Users, it is recommended to manually remove the Users and reassign them to an environment.
Q: I've Signed In to the Web Portal but I Don't Have Permission to Access Control Center
A: If you are signed in to the Web Portal, you don't need to log in again to access Control Center. However, if your account type doesn't have permissions to access Control Center, the following screen will be shown:
To get access to Control Center you need to talk to your Super User and follow the How to Get Access to Control Center instructions.
