This article describes the Mass update feature in inriver Enrich and how it promotes speed over repetitiveness.
About Mass update
You can avoid repetitive, manual work when managing Entity updates, by using the available Mass update feature. This enables you to quickly search, find, and select multiple Entities, and to make updates across fields that the selected Entities have in common. This process is wizard-guided, helping you select what fields and values to update.
The Mass update option becomes available in the work area navigation menu () when you select two or more Entities from a work area.
Multi-CVL field update methods
If the field you have selected to perform a mass update is a multi-CVL field, you get the option to select the Update method. This means you can choose whether to Append the new values to the current values, Remove the current values, or Replace current values with the new ones.

Hello,
Is the mass-update function supported in the InRiver API? It would be really nice to be able to set up a work-area and apply a mass-update with Python code. Currently our process is to use the Entity endpoint and update the field values one by one. Having access to the Update method would be great as well.
Thanks,

How do I mass update specification field?
Hi Vadim,
it is not possible to update the specification fields using the mass update feature. The primary reason is that there is no specific rule that can be applied between an Entity and the connected Specifications. You could have hundreds of templates that can be linked to a specific Entity Type.
The inriver import adapter has the ability to import specification data from an Excel or CSV file. The configuration of the adapter ensures that the connected template and fields are known for the incoming data. You can find out more about the adapter here -

Your account manager can help you with checking your license and availability of the adapter.
