This article provides an overview of the inriver Import Adapter.
About the import adapter
The Import Adapter can be used to import data from an external data source into inriver. In its standard setup, the adapter takes a delimited file such as a CSV or Excel file from an Azure file share, SFTP drive, or Amazon S3 and processes the content into inriver.
By mapping fields from your incoming files to fields and entities in inriver you can, for example, create items and products as well as links between items and products or between other entities.
It can also be set up to handle bulk importing of media files.
The Import Adapter is a standard scheduled extension which by default processes data from an external storage location of your choice.
- inriver Direction: Inbound
- Architecture: Scheduled Extension
- Import Touch-point: SFTP, Azure file, Azure blob, and Amazon S3
- Interval: 15 minute interval between runs
Note! SFTP, Azure storage or Amazon S3 are not considered part of the adapter and need to be managed separately by the customer.
Information about how to set up your Azure file share or Azure blob storage can be found here.
Information about Amazon S3 can be found here.

Hello
is there a way to prevent existing values in iPMC from being overwritten if the mapped column in the import file is empty?
Thank you,
Johannes
Hi Johannes!
Unfortunately not at this moment. It sounds like a solid improvement. Please add it to https://community.inriver.com/hc/en-us/community/topics/360000684740-Adapters-Ideas
