About merchandise on media
A picture is worth a thousand words. With the Merchandise on Media feature, this statement becomes more accurate than ever before. We have now made it possible for pictures to contain inriver product information, using it in the receiving channel.
With the Merchandise on Media feature, the image becomes the carrier of the content structure created in inriver. This structure can be utilized in any receiving sales channel, and it is particularly useful for marketers. Enabling the adding of product information directly to images where several products are shown (e.g. looks, rooms, bundles, etc.) radically increases the richness of information published to sales channels.
How to merchandise on media works
From the Enrich Application, it is now possible to map out areas in an image showing a group of products, adding product information for individual products. The mapping is done by adding a point or by marking an area of an image, turning the area into an active zone. Once an area is created you can simply drag-and-drop product information that corresponds to what is shown in the image.
When published to a channel, the image now holds specific information about the positions of the products in a picture, the corresponding product information structure, as well as the actual content for each individual product. This information is then used in the receiving system - e.g. e-commerce, m-commerce, social media, webshops, etc. where it contributes to greater and richer customer experience and more visual shopping. Customers get better guidance and clearer contextual meaning of the products.
