This article explains how to create a catalog in the new Brand Store. You can select products, choose a predefined template, and generate a PDF catalog for sharing or downloading.
What is a catalog?
A catalog is a collection of product content designed for a specific audience or purpose, such as sending to a retailer, distributor, or internal team. It uses a predefined template, which determines the structure and layout of the catalog.
Your administrator configures catalog templates in Content Store. If you are an administrator and need help setting up catalogs or their templates, look at the articles in the catalog section of Content Store.
Selecting a template, previewing, and creating your catalog
When downloading content from a brand store cart, store visitors can change the file format to PDF (see How to download content from the new Brand Store for more details). This allows visitors to select among predetermined Cover/Main/End catalog templates and preview the content.
In a brand store
do the following:
- Add all products you want to include in the catalog to your cart.
- Open the cart
- In the Download Options area of the cart, select PDF as the File Format.
You are asked to confirm. Additional options are made available in the Download Options.
- Select the Cover / Main / End Template from the list of available options.
The store administrator defines the available catalog templates. If you are an administrator, you can learn more in Creating a catalog in inriver Content Store.
You can see a preview of how the different templates of your catalog will look with the selection of items in your cart, usingPreview.
- Select whether you want to email the catalog to others or download the catalog.
The catalog will be generated in the background. You can monitor progress in the Downloads manager.
