The focus for this month’s inriver releases has been on improving performance, security, and user experience for our customers.
Performance
We expect that every inriver customer that uses Server Extensions will be able to enjoy noticeably improved performance as the result of our release on the 24th-25th February that included a new filtering facility.
Prior to this release, server extensions would automatically be triggered for each and every add/update entry within the PIM. Now, customers can apply filters that will be checked on every add/update entry before the server extension is triggered. Using this facility, customers can specify certain criteria under which the server extension should not be triggered, eliminating unnecessary load and freeing-up available processing capacity for other tasks.
If you’re working with inriver’s Remoting API, you’ll find the latest package has been released to www.nuget.org which includes some improvements to internal data processing for increased performance.
Security
The inriver REST API has been enhanced with additional security measures this month to protect our customer’s data models from unauthorized interference. A new mandatory permission must be granted to any authenticating system before it can update a model.
User Experience within the inriver PIM UI
This month we’ve made a small but impactful UI update that will provide clear visual clues to PIM users in the event of a problem or failure in performing a mass update of data.
We've also improved the performance of the inriver user interface for customers working in Plan & Release. A new limit on the number of entities that appear on screen when opening a node means that the page will load faster.
Finally, there have been a range of bug fixes this month that have resolved issues with data display in Syndicate to improve the user experience for PIM administrators.
That’s it for this summary. If you’d like to know more about the details behind these enhancements, you can read our technical release notes at any time.
