Community Talks! Vol. 1, ep. 6.

I am going to share with you all a topic that is close to my heart: sowing and growing plants.
- Time for creation:
If you sow yourself, put on a good podcast or music you enjoy on your headphones, or even listen to the birdsong or the sounds of nature and just breathe. You can also share the moment with a family member - I really enjoy this time with my son Alve— it's so cozy to hear his thoughts and ideas! Now it's time for creation!
Digging your fingers in the ground, even for a person like me who does not like to have dirt on my hands (well, you can always use gardening gloves 😊), there is just something special about this! Digging a hole and moving soil from one place to another may sound like something really boring, but it's calming for the brain.
- To nurture something:
I like the nurturing part! The correct soil should be bought to create the right conditions, one tiny little seed should be in a single pot, covered again with soil and then sprayed with water and placed in a sunny place. Every day they need to be looked at, partly to see if anything has come up out of the ground (wow, that's the best part!) or if more water is needed or they need to be supported by a stick or turned around to face the sun.
- The result:
You look, and look… and look. Days goes by, you water it and talk a bit with the pot and then – suddenly one day – there is something green coming up! Happiness!
In this stage, I feel so proud and take a picture to share with my mother, who loves the gardening life 😊.
When the small green plant has come up through the soil, it goes fast! When it is big enough, it is time for it to move outside and then, after some sunny weeks and water, if you are lucky, you have a plant with vegetables on it!
To eat these vegetables with the knowledge that it is something you have grown yourself is fantastic!
If you have not tried this, I really recommend you give it a shot! It's easy, fun, and for a cheap price you can get the opportunity to get vegetables all summer! The best time to start is now!
Do you like to sow and grow plants and if so, what do you sow?
Yellow tomatoes and snack peppers in the making!
