We are happy to introduce to you Peter Norlander. He is one of the inriver Champions and a partner.
We asked him 10 questions 👇
1. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
My name is Peter Norlander and I live in the southern part of Sweden, just outside of Malmö. I'm 36 years old and have a wonderful wife and two small boys, 3 and 6 years old. We are an outdoorsy family and are often found either out sailing or out in nature with the boys - a good contrast since both me and my wife work in IT.
2. How long have you been working with inriver PIM?
I did my first inriver implementation in January 2012, so it has been a little over 10 years now! Time flies when you're having fun. :) Then inriver was an on-premise solution and version 5 was brand new - that was a big improvement over the old java version!
3. In your opinion, what are the 3 best things about inriver PIM?
The flexibility, flexibility, and of course the flexibility. Being able to adapt the model and work process depending on the client's needs. There are a lot of differences between clothes, food, and electrical and industrial components, not to mention the work process between a manufacturer or a reseller. inriver's strength is the ability to adapt the model, interface, integrations, or adaptations to fit the task at hand.
4. If someone has a question about inriver PIM, what topics do you prefer to answer?
Well, whoever is asking should be prepared for a long answer - I like most of them! I always like to discuss how to optimize a workflow or how to model something. But the tech side is also very close to my heart, so I tend to end up in those discussions.
5. What advice would you give to someone who is starting to work with inriver PIM?
Go into the test environment of your inriver installation and dare to click on ALL the buttons. There is a lot of good functionality built-in, and I notice a lot of users only know half of them. This way you can actually learn a lot more about what you can do with your system.
Then, go ask your partner to have a deep dive session with you when you have worked in the system for at least a month. This time you will be much better prepared to take in all the information that they will share with you.
