Prints module in Print 2.0

This article explains the functionality of the Prints module, available in Print 2.0.

About Print modules

Print 2.0 currently contains five standard modules and two modules available as add-ons. Each module serves a separate Print operation.

The Prints module is part of the standard functionality. It is the module where you combine your Print configuration with your inriver data source to create an .xml file in the desired languages.

About the Prints module

In the Prints module, you can

• create a new print
• edit a print
• access the .xml file of a print

Creating a new print

After you have used the Configuration module to create a configuration, you can combine it with your data source from inriver into a new print. As an .xml file, this can be sent to InDesign for further processing.

In the Prints module
do the following:

1. Click on NEW PRINT
   the New print pop-up window opens.
   
   
2. Give your print a name using the Name area.
   
   
3. Select the configuration you wish to use from the Configuration drop-down menu.
   
   
4. Select the source of data from the Source drop-down menu.
   
   
5. Select the language or languages of your publications from the Language menu.
   You can have more than one language selected.
   
   
6. Click CREATE. Your new print is now available in the list of Prints.
   
   

Editing a print

To edit a print from your Prints list you can click on the edit () button, located on the same line as the print you want to edit.  

That gives you access to change the Name, Configuration, Source, or Language options for the particular print.

Using the XML file from a print

The download () button, located on the same line as a print on the Prints list, opens the Print XML Links pop-up window for a particular print.

From the pop-up window, you can use the XML Link button to open the .xml file on your browser, or the copy () button to copy the link to the .xml file on your clipboard.
