This article describes how to define Views to control which information should be presented in the Planner Overview and how this information should be presented.
To define a view
- In Planner, click Overview to open the Gantt chart that shows the Marketing activities.
- In the toolbar in the top right corner click the icon to Define view
- A new row is presented with different options to define the settings of the View.
- In the First dimension drop down list you decide which of the Planner entities that should be presented in the Overview.
- In the Second dimension drop down list you have the possibility to select another Planner entity that should also be presented for each of the first dimension entities.
- The list of Planner entities is updated to reflect the settings that you have done immediately when they are selected. In this way you can select what you want to see in the Gantt chart overview. In this example Activity is selected as the first dimension and Promotion as the second dimension.
To specify what information to show on the bar titles in the view
- Go to the toolbar in the top right corner and click the icon to Define view.
- In the field Bar Title you can select what parameter should be presented on the bars in the Gantt chart overview.
- The Bar Title text is updated immediately in the Gantt chart when a selection is made.
The Activity Name parameter is default if nothing else is selected.
To decide what entities to show in the view
- Go to the toolbar in the top right corner and click the icon to Define view.
- In the field Visible Entities you can select what entities you want to see in the Planner Overview. What you see in this list is based on what entity is selected as the First Dimension entity when you define the view.
- Check the entities that you want to see in the Planner Overview.
- Click the button Apply Filters.
Note! This button is not visible until you have made a selection. - The list of entities is updated to reflect the setting that you made.
Filtering in the field Visible entities only happens on the main Entity type selected in the First Dimension. If the main Entity is associated with a child relation, it must also be selected in the Visible Entities field to display any child Entities. You can only view child Entities after selecting the parent in the filter.
To add filters to the view
- Go to the toolbar in the top right corner and click the icon to Define view.
- To add a filter to the view you click the button +Add Filter.
- A new drop down list is presented showing all the possible filters.
Note! The alternatives you see here are based on all the CVL fields that have been defined in the elastic data model for the Planner entities. - Select the filter that you want to use for filtering the Planner Overview.
- A new filtering field is added to be able to define the filter settings for this parameter.
Note! You can use the field in the top of the list to easier find a value that you want to use for your filter. When you start writing in this field the list will show the alternatives that contain the text that you have written. - Check the checkbox for values that you want to use for your filter.
- The selected values are presented at the top of the drop-down list or if many are selected as a number telling how many was checked.
- Click the button Apply Filters to use the settings to filter the Planner Overview.
- The list of entities in the Planner Overview will be limited to present the once that matches the filter settings.
Note! You can continue to add more filter parameters in the same way to limit what you see in the list.
To group the list of entities in the view
- Go to the toolbar in the top right corner and click the icon to Define view.
- To add grouping of the list of entities click the button +Add Group.
- A new drop down list is presented showing all the possible Grouping alternatives.
Note! The alternatives you see here are based on the CVL fields that has been defined in the elastic data model for the planner entity. - Select the parameter that you want to use to group the entities in the Overview.
- The list of entities in the Planner Overview will be updated immediately to present the entities grouped by the selected parameter.
- Note! You can continue to add up to a maximum of three Group parameters to further group the entities in the Overview.
