Using different timeline views in planner

This article describes how you can use different timeline views to see different levels of details in the Gantt chart overview. 

To specify timeline views 

There are some options in how to view the timeline of the Gantt chart in Planner Overview. You can choose to view the timeline scaled by; Year, Month, Week or Day. 

View the timeline by year

1. In Planner, click Overview to open the Gantt chart that shows the Marketing activities.
   
   
2. In the toolbar in the top right corner, there is a drop-down list with a calendar icon in front to set the scale. 
   
   
3. Select Year in the drop-down list.
   
   
4. The Gantt chart is updated to show the marketing activities scaled based on Year. 
   

View the timeline by month

1. In the Planner Application, click Overview to open the Gantt chart that shows the Marketing activities.
   
   
2. In the toolbar in the top right corner, there is a drop-down list with a calendar icon in front to set the scale. 
   
   
3. Select Month in the drop-down list.
   
   
4. The Gantt chart is updated to show the marketing activities scaled based on Month.
   

View the timeline by week

1. In the Planner Application, click Overview to open the Gantt chart that shows the Marketing activities.
   
   
2. In the toolbar in the top right corner, there is a drop-down list with a calendar icon in front to set the scale. 
   
   
3. Select Week in the drop-down list.
   
   
4. The Gantt chart is updated to show the marketing activities scaled based on Week.
   

View the timeline by day

1. In the Planner Application, click Overview to open the Gantt chart that shows the Marketing activities.
   
   
2. In the toolbar in the top right corner, there is a drop-down list with a calendar icon in front to set the scale. 
   
   
3. Select Day in the drop-down list.
   
   
4. The Gantt chart is updated to show the marketing activities scaled based on Day.
