Can you have different completeness rules for different products? We are at the start of our PIM implementation and want to learn more about what is possible with Completeness.
With the out-of-the-box completeness rules, it is currently not possible to have different completeness criteria for specific products, say based on Fieldset. However, the intended way of using Completeness is to cover the general completeness rules in your enriching process to understand how complete your entity is. You can then group the Completeness criteria into different Completeness Groups and a typical implementation approach is to use this grouping from a channel perspective, for example, if the product is "Print ready" or "Web ready" etc.
These Completeness Groups could then be utilized in the Channel completeness tab in Plan & Release, where a user then can see "how ready" a channel is for each entity type.
There is also the possibility to implement Custom Completeness Criteria that allows specialized rules.
There are a lot of great articles on Completeness, start with the below and continue from there.
It seems possible to find a workaround and have completeness depending on Fieldset, can you please let me know ?
it is not possible to base completeness on Fieldsets with the standard solution. However, it is possible to develop custom Completeness rules to facilitate this. You need a certified developer to write the code using the inriver Remoting Api.
In summary, you could use the following logic:
Using this logic, Completeness for one product type may be based on colour, whilst for another it is based on weight.

Hi Steve, thanks a lot.
We created an entity "completeness" in InRiver already. For each field (attribute) we specify if this field is mandatory or not for each fieldset. So the data is already in PIM. So I guess it should be possible.
I will investigate this with your partner.
