You can add the server setting XCONNECT_QUICK_SEARCH_BEHAVIOR in Control Center and adjust it to modify the search field behavior in Content Store. The setting values are BeginsWith or Contains. If you haven't added the setting in Control Center, the default search behavior is Contains.

Can you clarify what "Search" entails? I guessed that it might find the word contained anywhere within the entity name. My experimentation shows that it only finds names beginning with the word.
Hi Mark Stuart-Walker Thanks for your comment! I have updated the article with a section on how to modify the search behavior using the server setting XCONNECT_QUICK_SEARCH_BEHAVIOR. I hope this helps!
Thanks Sophie! I did not know that setting existed.
My experimentation shows that without XCONNECT_QUICK_SEARCH_BEHAVIOR does Begins (which is what I experiencing). The creation of XCONNECT_QUICK_SEARCH_BEHAVIOR with any value changes it to Contains.
Please check this.
IMHO it would be more flexible for this to be per Content Store.
