Mass deleting entities
How do I mass delete entities in an easy way?
Mass deleting entities in batches
It usually doesn't take long to delete entities. However, we recommend taking precautions when deleting a large number of entities in one go. If the entities have many existing links it might take a long time for the system to finish deleting all of them.
We recommend that you mass delete entities in batches. This is because once a deletion event is processing, new events in your environment will be pending until the deletion is completed. Splitting the procedure into several events allows for other events in the queue to finish.
The recommended method of mass deleting entities is the same whether you are using Enrich, the Remoting API, or the REST API.
Good to know
We cannot recommend how many entities to include in each batch, as the number of links that entities have might differ between environments.
Known bugs/limitations
The excel import function might not work as expected if there are entities still being deleted in the background.
The speed for deleting entities can be increased by adding the setting "LINKTYPE_IGNORE_SORTORDER_UPDATE_ON_REMOVE" in Control Center. Make sure you are not using a specific sort order working with links before using this setting. Read more: Server Settings
