About inriver Contribute
The Contribute site is where your contributors log in, upload data files and media, and edit content. It provides a point of exchange for your contributors. By simplifying the upload and editing of your suppliers' product information before you import it to inriver, you get fast access to enriched, accurate product information as soon as they have uploaded and edited it.
The data and media from your contributors can be uploaded automatically into inriver if you have checked the checkbox in the settings. If you do not want to automatically accept the uploaded data, you can perform a manual approval of the uploads.
The Contribute site can be compared to a restricted version of Enrich, where you as the owner can clearly define what the Contribute user can see and do. Read more about setting up a Contribute Organization in this article.
How it works
When logging into Contribute, you arrive at an overview page that is much like the Enrich start page, with access to work areas and starred entities, Quick Search, Query Editor, Upload media and Import data.
The work areas work the same way as in Enrich, but with a more limited navigation menu. The Entity view also works in a similar way as Enrich, but the user can view and/or edit according to the rules you set up for that Contribute site.
Much like in Enrich, the user searches for the entities they want to manage, opens them in a work area, clicks an entity and goes to the Details tab to edit.
Uploading data
To upload data, go to the navigation menu next to Query and click Upload Data. A popup window opens where a file to upload can be selected. The permitted data file formats are .xls, .xlsx and .csv
The upload is made in four steps:
- Select File. This is where the user selects the file they want to upload.
- Configuration. This is where the user maps the file content against an EntityType and maps columns against the fields in inriver
- Validation. This is where the system validates the content, ensuring that the input format of the fields correspond to the fields in inriver
- Import. Once all the above steps have been made and any validations errors have been corrected, the import of data can be made.
If your contributor uploads media files, they should click Upload Media in the navigation menu to open the upload popup window.
Once the media has been selected, click Upload. Once the media is uploaded, the system will give a notification “Uploaded media are in a pending state and waiting to be approved”. The upload will be visible in the Pending Imports in Supplier Onboarding application. The Contribute user can also see the pending approval entities as a specific folder.
Receiving data
As the data files and media files have been uploaded, you as the receiving part can run checks and data validation manually in the Supplier Onboarding to ensure the quality. The Contribute site also runs checks on the data as it is being entered, listing errors that might have occurred in the transfer process and giving the users the chance to correct them before they upload it.
Good to know
- One session of the contributor uploading e.g. Media shows up as one pending import in Supplier Onboarding, not as separate imports for each file.

How would a supplier remove a relation that is no longer relevant? Lets say that the supplier uploads a new product data sheet, and want the old one removed?
Hi Calle Grundkvist is this still an active question for you? 😊 Or you have been able to find an answer yourself?
Let me know.
