Note! inriver will discontinue support for the old version of the Excel Import on 31 December 2020. If you have not yet started using the improved Excel Import, read this article to get instructions how to change the Excel Import setting in Control Center.
If you have any issues with the old version of the excel import our first recommendation is to enable the improved Excel Import and then test to see if the issue still persists. Read how to enable it here.
About the improved excel import
The import of Excel documents to inriver has been updated with new functionality and performance improvements. The goal of the improvements is to speed up the import process, provide control over the import process and visibility into the import process.
Features included in the new process include:
- Data validation and imports occurring in a long running job so user can continue to work and speed performance
- Results of the import downloadable in an Excel sheet with robust error messaging
- Control of steps run in the import process, for example, Server extensions being invoked, Listener extensions being invoked, Validation only, Validation and Import, Post processing (completeness, save revision history, channel notification etc.)
- Reviewing of import status as it occurs
