These monthly releases of new features are one of the reasons we believe Inriver was recently recognized as a Leader in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Product Information Management Solutions.
You’ll find all the details of this month’s release below. But first, a quick reminder: Inriver’s legacy UI reaches end-of-life on December 31, 2026. If you haven’t yet switched to the new UI, now is a great time to make the move, especially if you’re preparing for the busy winter retail season. Go to the user details tab in the top right of the PIM portal and toggle on the new UI.
Now, back to what’s new:
Adapt your images for every market with AI, right inside Inriver
Every market and channel you sell in has its own requirements for product imagery, including backgrounds, composition, and localized elements. Now you can create those versions of your media assets using AI without leaving the PIM. Following on from the launch of our new media asset experience in September, we’ve now added a new AI enhancements option within the Media tab. Here you can simply describe the change you want in plain language, and Inriver’s built-in AI tools adapt your master images to create your new draft.
Here’s how you can work with the new tools:
- Describe your needs in plain language. Ask Inriver to adjust the background, add localization elements, enhance quality, generate variations, or optimize an image for a particular channel or market.
- Show what you mean. Add up to three reference images (PNG, JPG, JPEG, or WebP) alongside your prompt to guide the look and composition you want.
- Keep working while it runs. Your prompt stays on screen during processing, you can follow progress, and you can send the job to the background. You’ll get a notification when the result is ready to open.
- Build on what worked. The AI edit history records every prompt and result for an asset, so you can flip between edits and reuse the prompts that worked well for other markets, channels, and team members.
- You decide what gets saved. Compare the result with the original, then save to the PIM or download your results. Because AI results can vary, this review step is part of the process by design.
Here's a short video showing this new functionality in practice:
The ability to apply AI enhancements is included at no additional license fee for all customers who’ve licensed Inspire. Note that each enhancement uses AI credits from your existing balance, and editing images typically uses more AI credits than generating text, so it’s worth keeping an eye on your usage. You can do this from the AI enhancements page or in Control Center under Metrics > AI credits.
These AI enhancements are part of our new media experience that launched in September and which currently needs to be activated per environment on request. If the new media experience has not been activated for your environment, please contact Inriver Support or your Customer Success Manager to start the process. Once it’s activated, each user will need the new MediaAssetAiEnhancements permission added to their profile to access the AI tools. To save the results of their AI generation back to the PIM, they’ll also need AddEntity (to save as a new asset) or UpdateEntity (to overwrite an existing one) permissions. The new media experience will become the default in all environments in early 2027.

Request auto creation of image variants in URL parameters
While we’re on the topic of image adjustments, here’s an important new feature for the developers and integration teams who maintain your integrations. Day-to-day PIM users can probably skip ahead, although the benefit reaches your whole business, making it easier to provide images in the size, format, and quality each channel expects.
If you serve product media through the new Inriver Media Asset CDN we lauched in September, you can now ask for a transformed version of any image by adding parameters to its asset URL. Add the dimensions, crop, format, quality, or watermark a channel needs into the URL, and Inriver will create the variant and cache it on the CDN for every subsequent matching request. The same parameters always return the same result, and your original image is never changed.
The supported parameters cover:
- Resizing and cropping, to match the exact dimensions and framing a channel requires
- Format conversion and quality or compression settings, to deliver lightweight files suited to web, print, or marketplace use from a single source image
- Watermarking, applied through the URL while your original file stays untouched
Because variants are generated when they’re requested, you can request exactly the version each channel needs, with no need to prepare, store, and maintain a separate copy for each one. Onboarding a new channel can be as simple as updating the URL your integration calls.
Dynamic image transformations are included at no additional license fee for customers with the Media Asset CDN add-on and the new media experience. Contact your Inriver Support or your Customer Success Manager to learn more.
Here's a short video that shows how it works:
Get higher quality AI translations with built-in agentic review step
Inspire translations now come with the option to trigger an agentic translation critique loop as an extra layer of automated quality control. This built-in step automatically uses a second agent to review the first draft of a translation created by Inspire. The generated text is compared against your source text, your glossary, and your translation instructions, before flagging any issues by severity. Inspire will automatically fix any significant flaws identified by the agent. You can choose to have up to three rounds of agentic review to optimize the text which can then be approved by your team.
Each review looks at six dimensions:
- Fidelity: does the translation mean exactly what the source means?
- Completeness: has everything in the source been translated?
- Terminology: are your product terms, categories, and glossary terms correct?
- Specificity: does the translation retain the same level of detail as the source material?
- Fluency: does it read naturally in the target language?
- Style: does the wording suit the tone and register of your source content?
Every target language gets its own loop, and all languages run in parallel, so you can add languages while quality checks run for all of them at the same time. And you choose when to use the loop and when to just have your team review the first draft. Here's a short tour of how to enable this in your Translation Configuration. You can also learn more in the Knowledge Base.
This new functionality is available now to all customers with Inspire at no additional cost, although each critique loop will use AI credits in addition to those for the initial translation.
Meanwhile, for even more accuracy in translations, Inspire now supports OpenAI’s latest model, GPT-6 Luna. This is the simplest and fastest model in the GPT-6 series and is generally suited to all the generative tasks Inspire handles. Any user with the Inspire Admin permission can activate the new model from the Inspire Configuration page.
Define detailed completeness rules without impacting performance
Completeness rules are how you define what “ready” means for each of your products, markets and channels. With improvements to how Inriver calculates completeness, you can now build rules that are as advanced as your business needs without needing to worry about performance.
When it makes sense, Inriver now calculates completeness in the background as a separate step from the update of the entity. For API updates and data imports, that means faster and more predictable response times. In the PIM portal, you’ll see an indicator that a calculation is in progress, and you can carry on working while it finishes. We’ve also optimized the calculation itself, which further improves performance in many environments, especially those with several completeness rules configured.
So, whether you’re adding requirements for a new market or building more detailed rules for an existing one, you can do it knowing your updates will stay responsive.
These improvements are in place now for all Inriver environments.
Enjoy faster loading of Table View in multi-language environments
Another change that’s already improving the PIM portal experience for customers working with languages at scale is the addition of a language selector within Table View when you’re working with large data sets. In Table View, you typically get one column per entity per language and per LocaleString field. So, if you’re working with 100+ languages and several LocaleStrings, you’ll soon be trying to load hundreds of columns.
Now, if your result is going to include more than 200 columns and you’re working with multiple languages, the Filters panel will automatically show just one language at a time to keep the page performant and manageable. It defaults to each user’s pre-configured preferred language, but you can then pick the one to review from the selector. The result is a noticeable improvement in Table View performance for data models with many languages.
Here’s how it looks:
New insights and control over your print & digital document creation
Print & Publish offers an easy way to connect your governed PIM data with Adobe InDesign when you’re creating brochures, catalogs, and other assets for print or digital distribution. This month we’ve added several features that give you a clearer view of what’s happening when data is updated in the PIM, and a way to keep your most important catalogs updated in the background for efficiency. Here’s an overview of the new features:
- Print Statistics. A new section on the Dashboard shows a live feed of recent PIM field updates per product. The new Prints to be Reloaded list shows the document sections that are currently queued or regenerating with the status and estimated duration of each task clearly shown.
- Export status and progress. The Print Export Links dialog now shows a status for each section: To Be Reloaded (with an estimated duration), Generating (with a live progress bar and percentage), or Ready (with the time it was generated). Select the info icon to see what’s processing now, which PIM changes are pending, and a history of changes and generations.
- Priority Prints. This new flag can be set for your most important brochures and catalogs, ensuring that Print & Publish regenerates them automatically in the background shortly after PIM updates arrive. It means the latest data is available to work with when you open InDesign. No waiting around! Priority prints appear in bold with a lightning bolt in the Prints overview. For customers using the Self-Service Publishing add-on, this also refreshes the automation cache. It’s wise to use this flag sparingly to maintain performance. Read our Knowledge Base for guidance on how to use this functionality effectively. Contact Inriver Support or your CSM to enable this feature in your environment.
- Self-Service Publishing progress. Each run now shows its current stage with a progress bar and an estimated completion time based on previous runs. Here's a quick demo of the insights you can gain:

Work more easily with the Inriver Shopify Adapter
A new HTML template within the PIM portal makes it easier for non-technical users within your business to configure the Inriver Shopify Adapter, so more of your team can take part in managing your Shopify connection. You can give this access to anyone in your business without needing to grant them wider Control Center access. Here’s how the UI looks:
It’s available now to all customers who’ve licensed the Shopify Adapter. Just download the HTML template from Community and install it. Support for configuring additional settings will be added to this interface in coming releases.
If you’re interested in connecting your PIM directly to your Shopify storefronts, speak to your Customer Success Manager about licensing the Inriver Shopify Adapter.
