This month's release brings AI further into your day-to-day enrichment work, gives you finer control over who can edit what across languages, and closes the loop on visibility into your syndication jobs. New features give you the power to:
- Trigger content enrichment conversationally as Enrich Assistant gets full roll-out
- Use OpenAI’s new Luna model and get greater accuracy in your AI translations
- Take precise control over who edits what with language-specific permissions
- Catch syndication problems before they cost sales with new Syndicate Advance notifications
- Manage bundles, kits and other product linkages more efficiently when onboarding product data
- Build custom logic and manage variant catalogs in the Shopify Adapter
Here's the detail on everything that's new for your business this month:
Enrich Assistant Is Now Generally Available: Enrich Your Content Through Conversation
Writing and editing product content field by field can be slow, especially when you're pulling information from images, specs, and documents scattered across different places. Enrich Assistant accelerates that process by putting conversational AI right inside Enrich. Now you can use your own words to generate and refine content across multiple fields in a single request instead of working through them one at a time.
Tell the assistant what you need, and it works from the full context already available on the entity: the data model, existing field values, related images, and any supporting documents you upload to the session, such as product specifications or data sheets. It proposes updates for the fields you asked about, and you review every suggestion side by side with the current value before anything is applied.
Approve what you want or edit anything that needs a tweak. The fields you've updated are highlighted, so you can see exactly what changed. The system records the user details of each approver, so you've got a clear record of who signed off on what.
Enrich Assistant is included for customers with Inspire AI, at no additional cost. Users will need to have the new permission EnrichAssistantUser added to their role to access the assistant.
Many of you took part in early access testing for this feature over the past couple of months. Thanks for your invaluable feedback which has helped shape the final experience.
Enabling OpenAI's Luna 5.6 Model and New Translation Accuracy in Inspire
Inspire now supports OpenAI's latest Luna 5.6 model, giving you access to a newer, more capable model for the text generation and translation tasks Inspire already handles. Any user with the Inspire Admin permission can activate the new model from the Inspire Configuration page. Inspire will then use Luna for future tasks.
At the same time, we've been making some incremental enhancements to the way Inspire carries out all translation tasks. Instead of a single, one-size-fits-all prompt behind every request, you can now set up separate translation configurations for different content scenarios. So, you can change the instructions for translation by product segment or field criteria, in case you want to use custom instructions, glossary mappings, or AI models for specific translation tasks. Perhaps you've fine-tuned your own model for accuracy in writing about power tools and you want to be sure that model is used for all relevant products, but not for tasks related to furniture. That's now easy to configure within the Inspire Admin screens. Here's an example:
When a translation is requested, Inspire will automatically apply the most specific configuration for that content, so category-specific terminology, tone, and locale conventions are handled correctly without anyone needing to remember which rules apply where. The result is translation output that's more accurate, more consistent with your brand and terminology, and easier to adapt as your localization needs change.
Language-Specific Permissions Give You Precise Control Over Who Edits What
If your teams manage product content across multiple languages, you've likely thought about how to give regional teams ownership of their own translations while keeping your source content and other regional translations protected from accidental edits. While Inriver has always supported Read, Write or Hidden permissions per field, we're now adding language-specific settings at the same level of granularity within the standard Inriver permissions model.
In practice, this means you can give one team access to read and write the source content in your primary language but restrict translators to read-only access on the source content and write access on their specific language. For ultimate simplicity, you could choose to hide the French descriptions from your German team, while allowing them to read but not edit the English.
This feature is enabled by the underlying Inriver concept of "locale," so you'll see the term locale specific permissions in the product and permissions documentation, but the goal is to simplify multi-language operations.
Nothing changes for teams who don't need this level of control. Existing permissions continue to work exactly as they do today, and you only need to configure language-specific rules where you want them. Thank you to the partners who tested this functionality ahead of general release: your feedback has directly shaped what's shipping now.
Catch Syndication Problems Before They Cost You Sales
Typically, product teams struggle to get visibility when syndication jobs fail. They can also be in the dark about changes to retailer requirements until products are rejected because they don't match the new specifications. New email notifications in Syndicate Advance put you ahead of both problems.
You can now set up notification rules that email you the moment a syndication job finishes with any errors for the endpoint and category you're watching. You can also sign-up to be notified the minute a retailer updates their API content requirements, so you can update your mapping before anything fails.
Job error emails take you straight to the detail of what went wrong; requirement change emails show you exactly which fields changed in any retailer API endpoint you’re syndicating to, along with details of which of your mappings are affected, so you know precisely what to fix. Each rule is specific to a trading partner and category, so you decide exactly who should be told when there's something worth flagging.
Here's an example of how you set up a new notification rule:
And here's a sample notification email:
This new functionality is available to all Syndicate Advance customers with no configuration required to turn it on: you just need to create the rules that matter to you.
Manage Bundles and Kits More Efficiently with Full Relationship Data in Content Onboarding
Good news for companies with complex product relationships. If your product data model uses bundles, kits, or other configurations where the relationship between products carries its own information, Content Onboarding can now bring that relationship data in during import rather than leaving you to add it manually afterward.
A new setting lets you control how these relationships are grouped as they're onboarded, so your imported data matches the structure you actually work with. Existing imports continue to work exactly as they do today but can now support relational product data that includes link entity types.
Build Custom Logic and Manage Variant Catalogs in the Shopify Adapter
Two updates to the Inriver Shopify Adapter are giving more flexibility to customers who use their PIM to prepare product content for sale in Shopify stores.
You can now write custom business logic directly into the adapter, helping you to make the adapter better fit your business in cases where it doesn't support everything you need out of the box.
At the same time, we've added support for Shopify's own variant-level catalogs. This means you can now decide which product variants appear in which catalogs, rather than every variant automatically inheriting the parent product's catalog membership.
Both updates are available now to customers using the latest version of the Shopify Adapter. Reach out to your Customer Success Manager if you'd like guidance on configuring these new settings.
