It’s time for our monthly review of the most recent inriver product releases, where we delve into the more practical benefits behind the technical details.
July has been a quieter month due to the summer change freeze. However, there are some notable enhancements to Table View, Work Area queries and Print 2.0.
Easily Review Long Descriptions in Table View
When we released Table View earlier this year, we promised an ongoing program of UX improvements, and the latest is the ability to display multiple lines of text per entity, much like they do in a spreadsheet cell with text wrapping enabled.
So, for example, you can now see more of your descriptions at-a-glance in Table View, without needing to click to view the entity page:
This is achieved using the existing FieldType setting in your data model. PIM Admins working in Control Center can use the NumberOfRows setting to determine how many rows should be shown per field. You might, for example, only want a maximum of 3 rows for your product short description field, but up to 15 rows for the long description. Once this attribute is set in your data model, it will now be honored in Table View for faster, easier access to the data you need.
Apply targeted user-based filters to Work Area queries
We’ve enhanced Work Area queries to give your teams greater flexibility and precision when filtering records by user-related metadata. When you’re working with the Created By, Modified By, and Locked By fields in a query, you can now use Equal and Not Equal operators in Enrich, as well as Contains Any and Not Contains Any operators through the REST API. This allows for more targeted queries, making it easier to find, manage, and act on the exact records you need.
Improved Performance and Easier Monitoring in Print 2.0
Print 2.0 now processes multiple LinkUpdate notifications more efficiently, reducing system load and improving responsiveness. Additionally, enhanced logging delivers clearer, more informative insights, making it easier to debug and monitor critical processes.
That’s it for this month’s summary. If you’d like to know more about the details behind these enhancements, you can read our technical release notes at any time.
