It’s time for our monthly review of the most recent inriver product releases, where we delve into the more practical benefits behind the technical details.
This month’s update includes enhancements to productivity and data visibility across key modules like Table View, Inspire, Expression Engine, and Workflows—along with multiple usability improvements based on your feedback.
Easier insights in Table View
We’ve made several improvements to how you interact with and organize product data in Table View:
- Better organization of data: You can now group columns in Table View by category, locale, or fieldset, helping teams quickly focus on the data that matters most for their role or region.
- Smoother media interactions: Media files can now be previewed directly from Table View with a single click, allowing for faster validation and editing of content.
- Clearer guidance when issues arise: If the Table View configuration fails to load, users are now given a helpful message while the interface remains stable.
- Consistent experience in all languages: Field names now appear correctly even when working in non-English model languages.
These changes support more efficient working and fewer interruptions, especially for large or global teams.
Smarter content creation with Inspire
We’ve introduced new capabilities and safeguards in Inspire to help your teams generate better product content faster:
- More reliable AI content generation: All inriver-provided prompts and any new custom prompts now use GPT-4o-mini by default. This model improves the speed and quality of AI-generated product descriptions.
- Improved awareness for users: Tooltips and updated notifications now remind users to always review AI-generated content, helping you maintain accuracy and avoid publishing mistakes.
These enhancements enable quicker content creation without compromising on brand trust or product quality.
More powerful automation in Expression Engine
For teams using automation rules to manage product data at scale, the Expression Engine now includes three new functions that make processing collections of data more flexible and powerful:
- MAP lets you apply a transformation to each item in a list.
- FILTER helps extract only the relevant data based on your conditions.
- DISTINCT removes duplicates to keep your data clean.
These functions make it easier to automate complex data tasks with precision—freeing up time for higher-value work.
Better visibility and control in Workflows
We’ve made it easier to manage content approvals and assignments within workflows:
- More context in assignments: When opening Enrich work areas from within a workflow assignment, users now see custom headers that help orient them to the task at hand.
- Clearer highlighting of shared fields: Fields shared across workspaces are now visually flagged in the Details tab, making it easier to understand what’s being collaborated on.
These updates help you streamline decision-making and reduce bottlenecks in content approval.
Continuous improvements that make a difference
Several smaller updates are making big improvements in daily productivity:
- More accurate exports in Contribute: Entity exports now include related entities, especially useful when working with large datasets.
- More flexible filtering: You can now filter fieldsets and view entity counts by link type in Plan & Release, helping you prioritize more effectively.
- Smoother experiences: Bugs affecting CVL filters, locale handling, media icons, and more have been resolved to ensure stable, intuitive interactions across the platform.
That’s it for this month’s summary. If you’d like to know more about the details behind these enhancements, you can read our technical release notes at any time.
