It’s time for our monthly review of the most recent inriver product releases, where we delve into the more practical benefits behind the technical details.
Extensive new functionality for inriver Inspire
This month has seen a wide range of updates to the generative AI-powered functionality of inriver Inspire. In line with our promise to keep giving our customers access to the latest in AI technology, we’ve added support for two new Large Language Models: GPT-4o-mini and GPT-4o. This means you can now use images as the input for content-generation tasks, whether you want to extract data from the image itself or use it to craft more accurate product descriptions.
However, it is important to check which version you’re using before you execute a task in Inspire. Selecting GPT-4o will result in you using a lot more tokens per task. Use of GPT-4o-mini, on the other hand, will enable you to do more work with fewer tokens than the GPT-3.5 turbo model that was previously the standard option in Inspire.
We are gradually transitioning all clients to GPT-4o-mini. You can find out more about these models and the features they enable in the detailed Inspire release notes.
Continued development of Workflows
We’ve also further enhanced our new workflows functionality in August. Inspire Batch is now available as a workspace for individual assignments when configuring a new workflow. This means that when an assignment requires a PIM user to generate text in batches using AI, the workflow can be configured to take them directly to the Inspire Batch interface to complete their assignment. Workflow creators can now also provide more context when assigning Plan & Release as a workspace, ensuring that the PIM user who picks up the assignment is directed to exactly the right channel that requires their attention.
New keyboard shortcuts for improved usability
We know that PIM power users spend a lot of time working within the inriver portal and we’re always striving to make their experience as efficient as possible. For those who like to use keyboard shortcuts over mouse movements, we’ve now implemented a range of custom shortcuts to help them navigate between the different parts of inriver more easily. Here are just some examples of ways that you can quickly jump around the inriver PIM:
- CTRL + ALT + C - Content Store
- CTRL + ALT + D - Dashboard
- CTRL + ALT + E - Enrich
- CTRL + ALT + P - Planner
- CTRL + ALT + R - Plan and Release
- CTRL + ALT + S - Syndicate
- CTRL + ALT + W - Workflows
- CTRL + ALT + X - Syndicate Plus
UX updates to both Content Store and Brand Store
We've listened to your feedback on the impact of data model changes on existing Content Stores. This month’s releases have made it possible for your PIM Administrators to add new Field Types, Entity Types, and Link Types to your data model without these being instantly visible in Content Stores. This should give PIM admins more control over when and how their data model is updated.
At the same time, we’ve moved image processing in Brand Store from server side to client side. Your browser will now handle requests to download image resources sequentially, which should improve efficiency and reduce server load for improved performance. Towards the end of the month, we also implemented a range of updates to the Brand Store image asset download process to enhance the user experience.
That’s it for this month’s summary. If you’d like to know more about the details behind these enhancements, you can read our technical release notes at any time.
