Delegates at PIMPoint Americas have been getting a sneak preview of some exciting new functionality that’s coming soon to Syndicate Plus: The ability to syndicate enhanced content.
In this article, we’re happy to share some details with those who weren’t able to be with us in Chicago. Further demonstrations will be available at PIMPoint Europe on 15-16 May.
The Importance of Enhanced Content
Many brands who sell through leading retailers and marketplaces such as Amazon and Walmart will be familiar the “below the fold” modules of the standard product page where many brands display additional enhanced content such as videos, lifestyle images, product comparison charts, etc. Different retailers call these modules by different names, but they all agree that adding enhanced content to a product listing is proven to drive sales and conversions. Amazon figures suggest that using its Basic A+ Content capabilities can increase sales by up to 8%. Walmart says its Rich Media modules lead to a 12-36% higher conversion rate.
By answering shopper questions, this type of enhanced content builds trust and limits bounce rates. It also grabs shopper attention and helps to tell a truly compelling brand story that differentiates your products from the competition and highlights key features. The attractive imagery and comparison tables displayed within enhanced content modules can also help you to tell your complete brand story to every shopper, helping to pair buyers with the right product from your range every time, encouraging up-sell, cross-sell and repeat purchases.
Companies who syndicate content to multiple retailers and marketplaces need an efficient and seamless way to distribute enhanced assets to these channels alongside their standard product information.
Enhanced Content in Syndicate Plus
Syndicate Plus is an advanced distribution solution that is pre-integrated with the composable inriver PIM platform. It offers attractive functionality including API connections, auto-mapping of data fields, mapping inheritance, and pre-flight checks to minimize the risks of submissions being rejected by the target channels such as retailers and marketplaces.
With the addition of enhanced content functionality to Syndicate Plus, inriver customers will able to efficiently distribute enhanced content at scale from the inriver PIM to retailers and marketplaces via API (where such APIs are available) and templates.
Features of this new functionality include:
- Layout design for 16 unique Amazon A+ Content modules
- Custom paragraph headers and images
- Charts to compare the attributes of different items in a product line/brand
- Rich text editor, including bulleted/number feature lists
- Pre-flight checks to validate the content meets all requirements of the endpoint
Syndicate Plus Enhancements
Support for further retailers will be added as we expand our network of connectivity. We will consider the preferences of our customers when deciding which retailers and marketplaces to prioritize as the next outlets for enhanced content distribution.
