We’ve heard the feedback from our customers and partners that you value our existing technical release notes but would like to know more about the specific business benefits.
This is the first in a news series of articles where we’ll outline some of the commercial advantages offered by the enhancements and bug fixes delivered in recent releases.
In this article, we’ll look at the highlights from releases made in October and November of 2023, before the seasonal code freezes.
User experience enhancements to Enrich and Plan & Release
Users of Enrich, which is the core of the inriver PIM functionality, can now enjoy a more intuitive user experience when working across multiple tabs in their browser. We’ve improved labelling to make it easier to see and navigate between different entities, queries, and workspaces that are open in different tabs.
At the same time, we’ve updated the way that thumbnail icons are displayed, making it easier to identify assets including PDFs, zip files and CSV files in the Enrich interface.
Another improvement to the Save and Undo buttons in both Enrich and Plan & Release has reduced the risk of accidentally discarding textual edits.
Image handling improvements within Enrich and Brand Store
ImageMagick is a third-party image handling tool that’s integrated into both Enrich and Brand Store. It can be configured to manipulate product images in different ways for different extensions, for example resizing, and converting between formats such as gif, jpg and png. Following a recent product release, ImageMagick can now also be used to apply transparency and blurring on images if required.
API error handling
For developers who work with the inriver REST APIs, we’ve made some significant updates to error-handling. The enhanced error messaging will make it easier for developers to diagnose issues and communicate clearly with end users of external systems that interact with inriver via API.
That’s it for this summary. If you’d like to know more about the detail behind these enhancements, you can read our technical release notes at any time.
